Holland is progressing through some very challenging living and financial situations as she continues towards completing her 2nd semester at CPCC Levine Campus. We met with her recently on campus and she is looking and talking like a real full-time student. While Joe, an active Paul d Charity Board member, was servicing her van at his house, Holland went inside to Karen's kitchen table to "get to work on her homework". Through these real and trying circumstances Holland has actually built our confidence in her dedication that school is her and her kids' "way out". By the grace of God we will stand beside her, not just preaching "values" into the community, but living these values out, as was Paul d's constant and relentless mantra.
The Board Members feel like now is the time to make the strong commitment to Holland and her 3 children and move them into a healthier living situation. This will cost us... this may cost you... but Jesus said,
"To much has been given, much is required."
Last week we found out Holland was having to heat her shared living space with the oven. We fear Holland frequently quietly lives without the basics you and I demand.
The Paul d Charity is preparing to raise a large amount of money over a 2 year time frame. We hope and pray to find Christ loving people, who may not have the time, but do have the means, to give $100 or more/mth for 24mths.
Could you set aside $3/day to change a families future for Christ? Could I?
With only 40 commitments... we... together can be a part of the Paul d Charity and help minister to those in need.
Please pray about supporting the ministry.
Update: Holland and her children had to abruptly move out from her living situation. As emergency temporary housing, Joe and Karen Rampey have graciously welcomed them into their home. This can last for only a limited time, up to the first week of June. We have now geared up our efforts to raise the necessary funds to find housing for Holland in our community. Please pray about helping us immediately.
